The Middle Spoon Hosts Top Bartender Competition – Halifax, Nova Scotia

On August 20th 2013, Twenty One of the top bartenders from the Atlantic Provinces gathered at The Middle Spoon Desserterie & Bar (http://www.themiddlespoon.ca/) in Halifax for the “Made With Love 2013” Cocktail Competition regional qualifiers.  Qualified cocktail and drink judges drew classic cocktails at random from a list of 12 cocktails every talented bartender should know how to make to start the competition.  Bartenders then had four minutes to prep their station, then five minutes to make the three drinks.  Bartenders were judged on drink knowledge, technique, presentation, speed and final product.  The top 14 bartenders move on to the regional finals on October 2nd where they will create a custom cocktail for between 500-700 attendees.
